1984 Quiz Part 2 Ch.1

     Winston Smith, a man whose thirty-nine that has a varicose ulcer above his right ankle and man who works for the Ministry of Truth even though he is against the Big Brother while everyone thinks the Big Bro is their savior. Winston Smith hates his surroundings, hates the people he’s around, hates how the Big Brother keeps everyone under surveillance and he even hates himself but that all changes until the dark haired girl passes him a note that will make him change the perspective of things and on himself. “He rolled up the completed bundle of work and slid it into the pneumatic tube. Eight minutes had gone by. He readjusted his spectacles on his nose, sighed, and drew the next batch of work toward him, with the scrap of paper on top of it. He flattened it out. On it was written, in large uniformed handwriting: I love you.” (Orwell 90). In part two chapter 1, Winston finds out someone loves him because he is a man that lives in a world where there is poverty and everyone is being under the watchful eyes of Big Brother. Just one wrong move and you will be vanished from existence. When Winston reads the letter he starts to feel special and he starts to wonder why the dark haired girl loves him. Why she has choose him to be that special person. Winston starts to become distracted and he plans to talk to her but he has to be careful due to the many surroundings of the telescreens.
